Reducing carbon footprint by biking to the office – Stockstadt Mill

Because cycling is not only good for you, it is also good for the environment. By encouraging colleagues to cycle to work, we can make a postive impact on our carbon footprint.

The “By bike to work“ initiative was launched in Stockstadt Mill in 2016. During the first year, over 60 employees signed up, and cycled approximately 860 km per day.  Their motivation increased as they felt the improvement in their fitness and health.
If we estimate an average petrol consumption of 8l/100km, and a carbon footprint of 190g/km, the distances cycled by the „By bike to work“ team have led to a reduction in CO2  (carbon dioxide) emissions of  35,5 t CO2 per year (217 workdays).
