Mark Gardner

Mark Gardner
President and CEO

Mark Gardner was named President and CEO of Sappi North America in 2007 and is responsible for leading all Sappi operations in the region. A Sappi employee since1981, Mr. Gardner worked in a variety of production management roles, including Managing Director at the Muskegon Mill and Director of Engineering and Manufacturing Technology before serving as the Vice President of Supply Chain and then Vice President of Manufacturing. In September 2012, he was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the University of Maine System and was recently the Chairman of the American Forestry and Paper Association. Mr. Gardner has a BS in Industrial Technology from the University of Southern Maine.

Anne Ayer

Anne Ayer
Vice President Fiber Resources and Corporate Development

Anne Ayer was named Vice President Fiber Resources and Corporate Development in 2015. Ms. Ayer has responsibility for the purchase and sale of specialized cellulose and kraft pulp for North America, in addition to strategic and corporate development initiatives. Ms. Ayer joined Sappi in 1996 and has served in a variety of roles, including Vice President Corporate Development and Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to Sappi, Ms. Ayer worked as a consultant at the Monitor Company, a strategic consulting firm. She has an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in Psychology from Harvard.

Tom Collins

Tom Collins
Vice President & General Manager, Specialties Business

Tom Collins was named Vice President and General Manager, Specialties Business in 2013 and is responsible for Sappi's global release paper business. He leads the sales, marketing, R&D and manufacturing organizations within the release business. Mr. Collins joined Sappi in 1991 after fifteen years in the Paper, Foods and Industrial Chemicals divisions of Procter & Gamble. At Sappi, Mr. Collins has held various positions in manufacturing, marketing and Research and Development, and served as Sappi's first Managing Director of the Cloquet Mill following its acquisition from Potlatch in 2002. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine and a MS in Industrial Administration from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

John Donahue

John Donahue
Vice President Central and Wood Procurement

John Donahue became the Vice President Central and Wood Procurement in 2015 and is responsible for the North America region's purchasing and wood initiatives. Mr. Donahue has over 30 years of manufacturing experience in the paper industry and has spent most of his career at Sappi, joining in 1982. He has worked in technical, product quality and manufacturing operations at Sappi, with previous roles including serving as the Managing Director of Operations at the Somerset and Westbrook Mills and Vice President Manufacturing. Mr. Donahue has a BS in Chemical Engineering and a fifth year Pulp & Paper certificate from the University of Maine.

Bob Forsberg

Bob Forsberg
Vice President, Sales and Business Development

Bob Forsberg became the Vice President of Sales in October 2005 and is responsible for the development and execution of the North American coated sales strategy. He began his career as a Sales Representative with Sappi in 1985 and has served in a variety of positions in Coated Sales and Marketing, including Regional Sales Manager, Atlanta, Category Director, Utility Brands and Catalog Segment and Regional Sales Manager, Mid-Atlantic. Mr. Forsberg has a BA in Economics and Art History from Bowdoin College and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advance Management Program.

Deece Hannigan

Deece Hannigan
Vice President, Coated and Packaging Business

Deece Hannigan was named Vice President, Coated and Packaging Business in 2015. Mr. Hannigan’s responsibilities include leading the Coated and Packaging business units together with supply chain and logistics. Mr. Hannigan began his career with Sappi as a sales rep in 1988. He has since served in a variety of leadership positions in Coated Sales, Specialties, Marketing, and Manufacturing. Most recently, he was the Vice President of Fiber Resources. Mr. Hannigan is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a BA in Political Science.

Mike Haws

Mike Haws
Vice President, Manufacturing

Mike Haws was named Vice President Manufacturing in 2015. His responsibilities include accountability for the Somerset, Cloquet and Allentown operations together with the Research and Development facility. Mr. Haws joined Sappi in 2012 as Managing Director of the Somerset mill. Prior to Sappi, he held a variety of operational roles with Verso Paper, International Paper and Champion International. Mr. Haws has over 30 years of experience in the paper industry and holds a BS in Paper Science and Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Annette Luchene

Annette Luchene
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Annette Luchene was named Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2004. She is accountable for all finance, treasury and accounting functions, in addition to leading the Information Technology and Lean Six Sigma organizations. Ms. Luchene joined Sappi in 1996 as Director of Management Accounting and then Director of Finance. Prior to her time at Sappi, she spent ten years with Packaging Corporation of America, a division of Tenneco and Ply Gem Industries, where she worked in various accounting and finance positions. Ms. Luchene has an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago and a BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University.

Sarah Manchester

Sarah Manchester
Vice President, Human Resources and General Counsel

Sarah Manchester was named Vice President Human Resources and General Counsel of Sappi Fine Paper North America in 2006. She is responsible for leading the human resources and legal functions as well as government affairs and corporate communications. Since joining Sappi in 1997, Ms. Manchester has held a variety of roles, including Assistant General Counsel and Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to her time at Sappi, Sarah was an associate at the global law firm, Ropes & Gray. She has a BA in History from Dartmouth College and a JD from Cornell Law School.

Jennifer Miller

Jennifer Miller
Chief Business Sustainability Officer

Jennifer Miller was named Chief Business Sustainability Officer in 2015 and is responsible for identifying growth opportunities through expansions into current and adjacent businesses as well as her sustainability leadership. Ms. Miller joined Sappi in 1996 as Vice President and General Counsel and since that time, has held several leadership positions, most recently as Executive Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Communications. Before joining Sappi, she served as Vice President of Rates and General Counsel for Boston Gas. She has a BA in Economics from the University of Washington and a JD from Cornell Law School.
