The Human Rights Campaign

Grant Awarded: $10,797

The Human Rights Campaign envisions an America where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are ensured equality and embraced as full members of the American family — at home, at work and in every community.

A key part of this campaign is “Let Love Reign,” a collection of portraits of gay and lesbian couples, in support of a national movement to legalize same-sex marriages. To generate awareness, Catalina Photography posted a billboard along a heavily trafficked highway in Charlotte, North Carolina. During the 30 days it was up, it was seen by more than 3.3 million people. Once the billboard came down, the vinyl was repurposed and made into 100 unique messenger bags. Catalina is now working to expand the Let Love Reign project across the U.S. and around the world.
